Remembran

Remembran is a soft hug from a cool wave spouting up the tall sides of a powerful cliff off the dreamy pacific ocean. The Santa Barbara group is a reconstructed version of Backpack/Mammary, led by the songwriting & vocals of Mallory Watje. Their self-titled debut buzzes & cracks with doo-wop/croony era sweetness: making new friends, being sad for rainy days & keeping sad afterwards but not understanding why because it’s sunny now, letting grains of sand sift between fingers (not metaphorically), & generally living life inside the frame of a Polaroid photograph. – Otis Pig
